With over 35 years of experience in Alberta’s utility industry, Darryl brings deep
operational expertise and proven leadership. Starting his career as a powerline
technician, he developed a ground-level understanding of the power distribution
system that now informs his strategic oversight as CEO of Lakeland Power Co-op
and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for ACE.
Throughout his career, Darryl has witnessed significant shifts in the energy
landscape. His leadership at ACE reflects a commitment to staying ahead of
market trends and regulatory changes. As a small, agile energy retailer, ACE
leverages its size to remain nimble, responsive, and focused on delivering real
value to customers. Under Darryl’s guidance, the company prioritizes exceptional
customer service, strong community relationships, and a people-first approach for
both employees and clients.
Outside of his professional roles, Darryl and his wife Shawna run a grain farm in
northeast Alberta. Their rural roots keep them closely connected to the community
they serve and grounded in the values of hard work, resilience, and service.
